Happy Valentine's Day! Today I'm going to talk about love which is a pretty trending topic right now being "the day of love" and all. But I'm going to talk about a different love. A reckless, overwhelming, never-ending love. I'm sure a lot of you who listen to worship music has heard "Reckless Love" by Bethel Music and if you haven't, I ten out of ten recommend it. Music is how I connect, understand, and learn. It's my language. This song describes the kind of love that never goes away. The love we should all come to know first. Here's the first verse "Before I spoke a word, You were singing over me You have been so, so good to me Before I took a breath, You breathed Your life in me You have been so, so kind to me" God formed us in our mother's womb, He knew us before the world knew us. He loved us before we loved Him. Here's the chorus "Oh the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God Oh it chases me down, fights 'till I'm found, leaves the ninety-nine I couldn't earn it, I don't deserve it, still You give Yourself away Oh the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God" His love is overwhelming and indescribable. It passes our understanding and is never-ending. No matter what we do His love never stops. It's reckless. Reckless as in unheeding. He never stops pursuing. He chases us down and seeks us out even if we don't know it. He fights to win us over and find who we really are in Him. He leaves the ninety-nine. Matthew 18:12 "What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will He not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?" If we're all following Him and one of us wanders off and loses sight of Him, He will come looking for us to bring us back. This love He shows us is something we can't earn. He's God and He's perfect, there's nothing we could do. He just loves us. We don't deserve it. We're sinners and we've all fallen short from the glory of God. He shows us forgiveness when we think we don't deserve it. Maybe we don't deserve this amazing love He shows us but He loves us anyway because we are His children. We don't deserve any of this but Jesus still died for us and gave Himself away for us. Because He loved us so much He died so we could enter Heaven to be with Him. It's overwhelming. It's never-ending. It's what love really is. Here's verse two "When I was Your foe, still Your love fought for me You have been so, so good to me When I felt no worth, You paid it all for me You have been so, so kind to me" When I was against You, when I doubted You, when I didn't believe. You still fought to win me over. Your love conquered death. When I was against You, You were still for me. When I felt no worth, when I was at my lowest times, when I thought no one loved me, You did the unthinkable. The greatest display of love. You lost Your only son. You died for me. You paid for all my sins and by Your stripes (wounds) I am healed. Because You see us as worthy. There's nothing you won't do to get to us. Your love is immeasurable. And now the bridge "There's no shadow You won't light up Mountain You won't climb up Coming after me There's no wall You won't kick down Lie You won't tear down Coming after me" The darkness doesn't effect Him. There's no shadow no darkness He won't light up. There's no limit to height He's willing to go for us. There's not a wall we could put up He won't kick down to get to us. There's no lie someone tells us He won't tear down. No lie we believe about ourselves or have been told. Nothing will stand in His way of the love He has for you! Celebrate this love today and everyday Love you all! This was a collaboration with five other girls! Go check out there different topics for Valentine's day linked below

The word "Christian" gets tossed around a lot nowadays. People who say they are Christian but don't live or act like it. There's too many people like that out there. What if we took the word Christian away? What would we as believers call ourselves? Back in day, over 2,000 years ago the first followers of Jesus were called just that, followers of Jesus. I know they had other names but this is the base of them all. Matthew 4:18-22 talks about when He saw Peter and Andrew and then later James and John, He said "Follow Me" and they dropped what they were doing and followed Him. We say we are Christians, but do we follow Him? We are supposed to thrive to be like Jesus. Preaching the gospel, healing others, showing kindness, and the list goes on and on. But we forget. The world has hidden the meaning of being a true Christian, we've given it our own meaning to fit our needs and make it easy. The disciples were first called Christians in Acts 11:26 in Antioch. Being a Christian is so much more than labeling ourselves with that name. It's remembering we're followers of Christ. We're here to be a light, to show people the Way, the Truth and the Life. Sometimes we have to reflect on ourselves and the things we do to make sure it's lining up with His will. The world can be distracting and people can lead you down the wrong roads but God gave us the Bible as navigation through everything. The Bible is vital and it shows us who Jesus is and how to be true followers of Him. I recommend starting in New Testament or even re-reading the first four books and studying them to learn and refresh our minds. I hope this got you thinking and maybe helped a bit :) I hope to be posting again here soon. See you later! We have our moments. We stress out. We give up. We get angry.
Maybe you've heard it all before. This Jesus guy. You go to church and wonder why you're life is still like this. I'm sorry I can't give you the answer. No one can. Not your family. Not your friends. Not your doctors. But God can. And I can give you some answers about God. One, it takes more than going to church every Sunday to connect with God. Like every relationship, you have to communicate. With God it's called prayer. Prayer doesn't have to be this great formal and rehearsed thing. It's just talking, and He loves listening to you. So now you can communicate with Him, what next? Learning more about who you are talking to. Besides praying we have another way of learning and communicating. The Bible. Your Pastor can read it to you and preach to you all day but, the day you pick it up and read it for yourself is the day you'll start to change. No one can change you but you. The Bible is His living word and has the answer to 99.9% of your questions. Now you talk to Him, and know what's He's about, the next step is listening to Him. Which we'll talk more about another day. Here's the thing, I know life is hard but now you know the two best things to make it better. It's not going to happen over night but it can happen. God made you, He understands you and He wants you to come to Him and allow Him to help you. You are God's child and you are loved. Focus on these two things: Talking to Him and reading about Him. Until next time loves! Gianna Let me tell you about my adventure.
First we went camping at the Florida Caverns and toured a cave which was so cool! After two nights sleeping on the ground there we cut that trip a day short and decided to tour Tallahassee, our state capitol. We were here for two days and visited: The Tallahassee Museum, The Museum of Florida History, and our old state capitol building. I loved it! From there we went to Valdosta Georgia to the Wild Adventures theme park! I've never been but It was real fun. I am more of a museum gal than a rollercoaster rider though. This was the first vacation I've ever been on and I'd say it was success! Seeing new things is good for the soul and can give you more perspective. Seeing more of God's creativity was amazing! I hope to go back soon! This post is a collaboration with my best friend Hannah from The Different Blog! Happy reading, Gianna Ever been in one of those moods where every little thing seems to agitate you. Like for no reason. What's up with that bruh? I'm in one of those moods right now. I'm irritated and I don't even know why. Then eventually I thought, maybe it isn't a world thing, maybe it's a heart thing. So the past day or two I've been spending time with God in the mornings. But today I didn't. I didn't take the time at the beginning of the day to spend with Him or equip myself with my armor of God. I was open for attack from the enemy. That could be where I went wrong and why I'm the grumpy carebear right now. I'm usually funshine. Maybe you've been in one of these moods, what happens to put you in this mood, if anything? Sometimes it could be someone else in a grumpy mood and it spread to you like a viral infection. Sometimes it's a situation. Whatever it is, God sees it. He wants you to bring it to Him. He wants to sit with you to talk and listen. So you'll need your Bible. Like I said before sometimes this mood isn't a world thing, it's a heart thing. Which means you'll need a heart change. Where's a better place to go than to the One who made your heart? Don't be the person that spreads the debby downer syndrome. Go right to the source and get it fixed. You need quiet time with God. Worship music, and scripture <3
Here's some songs and scripture I just listened to and read that might help you too :) Songs: Oceans by Hillsong United Shepard Of My Soul by Rivers and Robots Walking Like Giants by Stars Go Dim Walk on Waves by A&LA Here as in Heaven by Elevation Worship Scripture: 26 “In your anger do not sin” : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Ephesians 4:26-31 19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19:20 Happy Easter!
So maybe you have Easter egg hunts and Easter baskets, but you also have a Savior who was beaten, broken, and crucified out of the love He had for you. Jesus broke the bread during the Last Supper and said, "Take it; this is my body" Then He a cup and said "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many" Covenant meaning coming together or bond. When Jesus died, He made a way. He took your sin and died. He took your punishment. So that you may enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Amazing right? But it doesn't stop there. Not only did He take on the sins of this world and made a way for us in Heaven. He rose from the dead! Three days after He was buried, the tomb where He was laid was found empty! Although I can't capture the amazing things He did in my own words, the Bible does! Passion of the Christ is a movie I highly recommend! It captures this event and the ones before it amazingly! Jesus has set us free! Today as you hunt for eggs or spend time with your family, don't forget to thank Jesus! This is a blog collaboration with 10 other amazing women! The Future "Now listen, you who say,"Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money". Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and vanishes. Instead you ought to say,"If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them. James 4:13-17 NIV Stuff is going down now. I had to read that three times to fully get the concept of all that it meant. One of things it's saying is, don't procrastinate on the things for God's Kingdom. Don't put of reading your Bible saying you'll do it "later". James said, "You are a mist that appears for a little while and vanishes". 90 years or so is very little compared to eternity. Forever. Infinity. The future is a good thing to keep in mind but remember you may not get tomorrow. Don't let the future consume you so much that it's keeping you from living in the here and now. I am too, guilty of worrying about the future but my friend Hannah keeps me from floating away. I know keeping yourself on track on focused on the present is hard at times, but like I said in my last post, put up a reminder. It really helps <3 Love, your sister in Christ, Gianna Hannah's Social Media: Instagram: @thedifferentgirl_ Blog: The Different Blog Youtube: Hannah R (linked icons) The present is important and valuable. The present is where we live but sometimes we think we live in the past or sometimes in the future. Let me get real for a second. You could die reading this, I could die writing this. It's an intimidating question but one that should asked every now then. Here's another one. What if Jesus came for you right now? Would you be happy with what you've done for His Kingdom so far? Would you regret anything? Instead of being anxious about that thing that happened in the past, you could be telling someone about Jesus. Instead of being worried about what will happen in the future, you could be reading the Bible and strengthening your relationship with Him. My point is, live in moment not the next. Because you don't know what will happen tomorrow. Don't waste the present either. Which is more important; scrolling through not so nice Facebook posts and opening Snapchats or saving someone from eternal death and teaching them about eternal life? Yes, it is easy to fall into taking the present for granted but now I challenge you as I did myself to put a reminder somewhere to remind you the present is a gift. My reminder is on my wall. If you do and you'd like to share it you can tag me on Instagram @my.messiah.does.miracles
Love you, you beautiful child of God! <3 This is a blog collab with my friend Hannah and her amazing blog will be linked below
Past, Present and Future Part 1 Dear Past, I know you try and keep me with you. But what's past is past. I know you hold many good memories for me but, you also hold bad ones. I often dwell in the past, which I shouldn't do. Even though you don't like being forgotten, my God has asked me to live in the present. Yesterday is gone and today is a new day. Thinking about all the wrong things I said, all the times I was embarrassed, all the times I wish I could change how things went, thinking about those all the time keep me from thinking about what I could be doing for God's kingdom. I feel selfish knowing I've wasted hours on end thinking about myself and not what I could be doing for God or who I could be telling about Him. The enemy loves when we dwell in the past, it keeps us from doing other things like strengthening our relationship with God. Now you listen up past, I'm a warrior who now knows how to put on her armor everyday. My armor of God (Ephesians 6: 10-20). I will no longer me a slave to the past as well as fear. Even though you come to haunt me at my weakest times, I know who I can lean on for strength. You past, do not define me. God does, and He says I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. Your friend, Gianna Hannah's blog https://thedifferentblogsite.wordpress.com/ Blog post verse: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in wilderness and streams in the wasteland Isaiah 43: 18-19 |
